In yogic philosophy, particularly in Kundalini Yoga, it is believed that we are much more than just our physical form. Instead of seeing ourselves as a single entity, we are understood as having 10 Bodies—each contributing to our overall well-being, spiritual evolution, and experience of life. By recognizing, balancing, and working with these bodies, we can lead a more harmonious and awakened life.
Read about our Purple Blaze Healing by Grandmaster Sanghamitra here which transcends the 10 bodies.
1. The Soul Body – Your True Self
The Soul Body is our true essence—the eternal part of us that transcends time and space. It is our connection to the Divine and the seat of our intuition. When in balance, we feel deeply connected to our purpose. When weak, we may struggle with feeling lost or disconnected. The Soul Body is your divine essence—the part of you that exists beyond this lifetime. It connects you to your higher self and guides your intuition.
🌀 Example:
Sarah always felt drawn to painting, but she chose a corporate job instead. Over time, she felt empty and disconnected. When she started painting again, she felt alive, creative, and in alignment—this was her Soul Body guiding her back to her purpose.
Balanced: You feel aligned with your purpose. Weak: You feel lost or disconnected.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Meditation, chanting, and connecting with the heart center.
2. The Negative Mind – The Protector
This body acts as a protector, identifying dangers and setting boundaries. It helps us discern risks, but when out of balance, it can lead to excessive fear and self-doubt.
This mind acts as a security system, alerting you to danger and setting boundaries. When balanced, it helps you avoid harmful situations. When overactive, it causes fear and self-doubt.
🌀 Example:Alex was offered a business deal that seemed great on paper, but something felt “off.” Instead of ignoring his gut feeling, he listened to his Negative Mind and avoided a scam.
Balanced: Healthy caution. Weak: Excessive fear and anxiety.
💡Key to Strengthening: Trusting in divine protection and balancing fear with faith.
3. The Positive Mind – The Optimist
The Positive Mind allows us to see opportunities, possibilities, and the beauty of life. It gives us enthusiasm and optimism. However, if overactive, it may lead to recklessness or blind positivity.
This mind sees the best in everything—it helps you take risks, find solutions, and radiate enthusiasm. However, an overactive Positive Mind can lead to recklessness.
Balanced: Optimism and confidence. Weak: Naïve risk-taking or feeling stuck.
🌀 Example:Emma lost her job but saw it as an opportunity to start her dream business. Her Positive Mind helped her turn a setback into a breakthrough.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Practicing gratitude and self-confidence exercises.
4. The Neutral Mind – The Wise Observer
The Neutral Mind is the bridge between the Positive and Negative Minds. It allows us to observe life from a place of wisdom and make decisions aligned with our highest good.
The Neutral Mind is the balancer between the Positive and Negative Minds. It allows you to step back, assess situations fairly, and make wise choices.
🌀 Example:Mark was caught between two job offers—one was high-paying but stressful, the other paid less but brought joy. Instead of reacting emotionally, he meditated, weighed the pros and cons, and chose the job that aligned with his long-term well-being.
Balanced: Clear decision-making. Weak: Confusion and emotional swings.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Meditation and mindfulness to develop discernment.
5. The Physical Body – The Temple
The Physical Body is our vehicle in this world, housing the other nine bodies. A strong Physical Body supports spiritual growth.
This is the vessel that carries you through life. A strong Physical Body helps you stay grounded and take action. A weak one results in low energy, illness, and disconnection.
🌀 Example:Lisa always felt exhausted and disconnected. When she started yoga and eating nourishing foods, her energy returned, and she felt more spiritually connected.
Balanced: Strong and grounded. Weak: Fatigue or health issues.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Yoga, exercise, healthy diet, and self-care.
6. The Arc Line– The Energy Shield
Known as the "halo," the Arc Line extends from ear to ear (and from nipple to nipple in women). It is our energy shield, governing intuition and integrity.
🌀 Example:Sophia was known for her honesty and strong presence. When she spoke, people listened because they trusted her energy. Her strong Arc Line made her naturally influential.
Balanced: Strong presence and clear intuition. Weak: Lack of personal boundaries.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Keeping commitments, honest communication, and practicing mantra chanting.
7. The Aura – The Magnetic Field
The Aura is our electromagnetic field, protecting us from negative influences and attracting positive experiences. A weak Aura may lead to feeling drained or vulnerable.
Your Aura is your energetic force field. A strong Aura repels negativity and attracts opportunities. A weak Aura makes you feel drained or unseen.
🌀 Example:David walked into a room, and people naturally gravitated toward him. His energy felt light, vibrant, and confident—a sign of a strong Aura.
Balanced: Protection and magnetism. Weak: Feeling drained or invisible.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Wearing white, breathwork, and surrounding yourself with high-vibration people.
8. The Pranic Body– The Life Force
The Pranic Body governs our life force energy (prana). A strong Pranic Body gives vitality, while a weak one can lead to fatigue and poor immunity.
The Pranic Body is your source of vitality. It governs how much energy you have to live, create, and heal. A weak Pranic Body leads to fatigue and poor immunity.
🌀 Example:Maria suffered from burnout, constantly feeling tired. When she started breathwork (pranayama) and spent more time in nature, she felt revitalized and alive.
Balanced: Vitality and strength. Weak: Low energy and weak immunity.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Breathwork (pranayama) and fresh, nourishing foods.
9. The Subtle Body – The Intuitive Guide
This is the body of intuition, allowing us to perceive beyond the physical realm. It enables us to pick up on energies and navigate life with grace.
The Subtle Body allows you to sense things beyond the physical—it gives you insight, deep perception, and wisdom.
🌀 Example:Jacob often had a "knowing" about events before they happened. His Subtle Body allowed him to sense energy and make intuitive choices.
Balanced: Strong gut feelings. Weak: Difficulty sensing energy.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Meditation, listening to inner guidance, and deepening spiritual awareness.
10. The Radiant Body – The Charismatic Presence
The Radiant Body gives magnetism, charisma, and divine presence. When strong, we glow from within and attract blessings. When weak, we feel insecure.
The Radiant Body makes you shine. It gives you confidence, magnetism, and a powerful presence. When strong, you command respect and attract blessings.
🌀 Example:Serena walked into a room, and heads turned. She wasn’t the loudest, but her energy was strong and captivating—a sign of a powerful Radiant Body.
Balanced: Confidence and magnetism. Weak: Self-doubt and lack of courage.
💡 Key to Strengthening: Courage, confidence, and standing in your power.
